Many people choose to walk the cup as a simple, effective way to do TIG pipe welding because of the consistency with which it welds pipe. Arc length and pattern are almost always the same, and the TIG pipe welding torch is always contingent on the metal. Therefore, shaking and wobbly hands are eliminated.
Patience and relaxing are the golden rules when welding pipe. Rush a weld and chances are you will either make a less than perfect weld or even get fired for poor quality. If you ask anyone who has been welding pipe for a long time they will tell you to always take your time.
Big Tig torches are OK for Know more here when nothing is in the way. In fact, the longer nozzle actually helps keep your hand further from the heat when you are walking the cup and your arc is deep in the bevel.
Anything at all worth owning involves focused perform. What do you consider a heart surgeon concentrated on learning though in school? That’s proper, heart medical procedures. Target on the a single matter that will make you money and burn it up like a laser beam! OTS! “Own The Ability!” Be watchful NOT to waste time, revenue and hard work on elements which will not actually make you funds, or which will make you quite small funds! DO what other folks are unwilling to set out the hard work to grasp.
Be Careful, children driven by the dreams and aspirations of their parents can (and often do) end up with problems born of following someone else’s dream.
The wobble method is generally somewhat easier. All you have to do is lean the TIG torch cup onto the pipe and strike an arc with it. Then you simply wobble the cup like you’re rolling a barrel and move forward. Most people just lay the filler rod in front of the tungsten and walk over it to add more filler wire.
That’s a bummer (if you are a pipe welder or want to be one) because it will mean a lot of work for a lot of highly paid pipe welders. However, the best way to have a career is to plan it – the delay of a year will give you time to get ready to make bank on the pipeline.
They won’t pay you much to start, and they’ll have you doing grunt work, even though you are certified. Slowly, they’ll allow you to weld more and more, and eventually, they’ll pay you well to weld. After as little as one year, you may want to strike out on your own, and you can do the billing at $100 an hour or more. Where will your friends be? They’ll still be taking basic welding classes.
